Illango Nagar near Gandhipuram houses about 100 families of whom Jaya is one. After an electrical leak caused a sudden fire to break out in Jaya's house, nearby residents informed the Police Department and the Fire Rescue and Operations.
Firefighters quickly rushed to the spot and after a half-hour battle managed to douse the fire thus averting the fire from spreading to other houses. There were no casualties.
The Fire Rescue and Operations and police are further investigating the fire outbreak.
