Coimbatore : The Maha Kumbabishegam ceremony of the 500-year-old Hanuman Temple in Idukkampalayam near Mettupalayam was performed with religious fervour today.
Coimbatore : The Maha Kumbabishegam ceremony of the 500-year-old Hanuman Temple in Idukkampalayam near Mettupalayam was performed with religious fervour today.
Over 5000 devotees have witnessed the Kumbhabisehkam and worshipped at the temple.
Elaborate Homam was performed yesterday with pots brought from various sacred rivers across the country.

Following this, special poojas were performed for the deity. The priests sprinkled the holy water around the premises as they chanted mantras and installed the sacred Kumbhas in the temple as a part of the Maha Kumbabishegam.
The other deities in the temple were also bathed with the holy waters and later the holy water was sprinkled over 5000 pilgrims who had gathered in the temple.
