Coimbatore: 'Shanthipecks 2019,' a postal exhibition and competition for school students in the city is to be held on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Senior Divisional Superintendent, Sudhir Gopal Jakhere announced that the postal exhibition titled 'Shanthipecks 2019' will be held at the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU) Techno Park Stadium from September 5-7, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A circular regarding the same has been sent to over 100 schools in Coimbatore district.
Many competitions like quiz, painting, letter writing, puzzle-solving and postal workshops will be conducted as part of the event. Winners will be awarded a certification of appreciation and it is expected that the many diverse programs will cheer up the student community.
"The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 7 pm and will serve as a good opportunity for today's generation to get acquainted with the Postal Department and its activities," noted the Senior Divisional Superintendent.
