Addressing the media, the LIC Divisional Manager said, "Insurance week is celebrated from September 1 to 7. The LIC public organisation began in 1956 with an investment of Rs.5 crores. Now the organisation is going strong with Rs. 31.11 lakh crores by issuing useful policies for the public."
"LIC is successfully operating in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Nilgiris with 26 branches, 20 support centres, 22 mini offices, 1235 employees and 11855 customers. The target for 2019-2020 is 1,92,000 policies with Rs. 594 crores as first premium collection. We have created new policies worth Rs.114.83 crores under the Jeevan Shanti scheme," he further added.
