Devotees thronged the Ganesh statue installed near Tirupur New bus stand and special poojas and food was offered to all devotees.
While addressing the media, Hindu Munnani Katchi State President Kaadeswara Subramaniam said, "Though the Tamil Nadu government seems to have faith in God, I doubt that they are indulging in anti- Hindutva activities. I pray that they are blessed with good tidings on this Ganesh Chathurthi day.
“During this Vinayagar Chathurthi, we pray that Tamil and Tamil Nadu prospers and peace prevails in the country".
