Coimbatore : Out of the five projects that have been nominated from Coimbatore for SKOCH awards 2019, the 24x7 water supply project initiated by the Coimbatore City and Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has won a silver medal, under the Governance category.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Sravan Kumar Jatavath shared the joy and showed the award to Minister SP Velumani who congratulated the corporation staff for their collective success in winning the award.
Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramasamy and District Engineer A. Lakshmanan was also present.
SKOCH Award, instituted in 2003, salutes people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. SKOCH Award is the highest independently instituted civilian honour. Only the best performers nationally are conferred the SKOCH Award.
Later the SP Velumani inaugurated the park constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 lakhs at South Zone Ward 99 Kaaniyappa Street.
District Collector K. Rajamani, CCMC Commissioner and Special officer Sravan Kumar Jatavath, Kinathukadavu MLA A. Shanmugam, CCMC Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramasamy and South Zone Assistant Commissioner T.R Ravi was also present.
