Coimbatore: Minister S.P Velumani and Transport Minister M.R Vijayabhaskar inaugrated the National Road Safety Conference in Coimbatore at a private hotel in the city on Saturday.
Coimbatore: Minister S.P Velumani and Transport Minister M.R Vijayabhaskar inaugrated the National Road Safety Conference in Coimbatore at a private hotel in the city on Saturday.
During the conference, Minister SP Velumani insisted on having a road safety club in every school and also inaugrated the road safety club in five schools as a first phase during the conference.
The Cabinet Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development, S.P. Velumani stressed that creating awareness on abiding traffic rules at schools will help create a better and responsible younger generation.
The Ministers also distributed helmets to the public to increase awareness on the road safety for two wheeler drivers.
MLAs VC Aarukutty, VP Kandasamy, Transport Department Commissioner Samayamoorthy, District Collector K.Rajamani, Police Commissioner Sumit Saran, All India Road Safety Awareness Committe, President Ashraf Ahmed were also present.
