The reportedly largest jute bag was stitched by nine visually challenged people and transgenders in about five hours which is another mile stone for Chandrans Yuva Foundation which is associated with the Sardar Vallabhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management. The 'jute bag' measures 65-ft in height and 33-ft in breadth and is an official attempt to set a Guinness World Record for being the largest jute bag. In the view of this recent message by the Prime Minister, the launch of the 65-ft largest jute bag in Coimbatore is expected to go across as a national message on conserving nature with an eco-friendly concept.

The 'largest jute bag' event was inaugurated by L Balaji Saravanan, DC, Law and Order, Coimbatore City Police along with the District Collector, K Rajamani in Coimbatore. M K Gandhi, Director, Sardar Vallabhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management, C Sivanesan, Founder and Managing Trustee and S Shasikala, Chairperson and CEO of Chandrans Yuva foundation, Coimbatore led the event.

According to the event organisers, the 'largest jute bag' has been launched to promote the message of 'Say no to plastics, Go green, Eco- friendly' and also to be socially responsible.
