5th edition of The Gourmet Bazaar all set to delight food connoisseurs of the City

Coimbatore: "The Gourmet Bazaar", Coimbatore’s unique gourmet foods event, announces its 5th edition with over 85 participants from Coimbatore, Chennai, Tirupur, Salem, Pondicherry, Uttrakhand, Kolkata, Kerala, Kodaikanal, Hyderabad and Ooty.


Coimbatore: "The Gourmet Bazaar", Coimbatore’s unique gourmet foods event, announces its 5th edition with over 85 participants from Coimbatore, Chennai, Tirupur, Salem, Pondicherry, Uttrakhand, Kolkata, Kerala, Kodaikanal, Hyderabad and Ooty.

This year’s gastronomic feast has a mix of something old and something new including the participation of the familiar home bakers and cafes from the city and a host of new entrants to satisfy all types of food enthusiasts.

Apart from a wider variety of cuisines, the organisers have also introduced new features, namely curated shopping at the High Street, kids’ stalls at the GenNext section, luxury lounges and vegan options. 

The Gourmet Bazaar is Coimbatore’s most awaited event and provides a sophisticated and fun platform for home bakers, caterers, small businesses, organic producers and speciality cafes to showcase their products, launch new recipes and different cuisines while providing the city two days of pure gastronomic delights.

Visitors get to take home a specially designed cloth bag which they can use to collect their purchases at the Bazaar, so as to reduce overall use of plastic. 

This event is put together by Kanika Khanna, Prema Goenka & Shikha Bagaria of Coimbatore.

There are new additions at the Pop-Up Café - Coorgi cuisine, the coastal cuisine of Kerala, traditional Mughlai style biryanis & kebabs from Agra, Manglorean & Rajasthani foods, European, Mexican, Japanese and Oriental cuisine, traditional South Indian & North Indian fare, chaats, starters and all-day snacks, fusion foods, fast foods, grills & bar-be-que etc. 

This year’s edition includes a large variety of beverages – cold pressed juices, teas, old-time goli soda, natural juices, mocktails & shakes, as well as gourmet & vegan ice creams. The all-day pop-up Café TGB would feature a live band from Bengaluru. 

Cakes, Desserts, Pastries & Gourmet Chocolates by award winning passionate makers, home bakers and speciality cafes of Coimbatore will also be present.

Artisanal cheese, speciality breads, nut butters, home made vegetarian and meat pickles, masalas, healthy snacks, jams, juices, preserves, estate tea & coffee, spices, organic goods, forest and flavoured honey, flavoured butters & cheeses, Gourmet dips & spreads, dessert syrups, fruit wines, cake & pancake mixes, healthy cereals & breakfast bowls etc. will also be a present in various stalls in the event.

The Gourmet Bazaar 2019 would also showcase a curated range of crockery, tableware, pots & planters, exotic plants & flowers, home linen, decoupage, assorted handmade home décor accessories, as well as organic natural skin care goodies & fine jewellery. 

At the Farmer's Market, fresh produce from the Coimbatore region and the Nilgiris like greens, fresh strawberry, strawberry wine and preserves, forest honey, organic fruits, vegetables and other farm products will be up for sale.
