Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Legislative Committee on Public Undertakings led by MLA Semmalai inspected Tirupur's four sectors, including minerals resources, drinking water and pollution control.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Legislative Committee on Public Undertakings led by MLA Semmalai inspected Tirupur's four sectors, including minerals resources, drinking water and pollution control.
After inspecting the Tirupur main Government Hospital, MLA Semmalai said that he would recommend opening of a medical college in Tirupur, soon. Following this, he inspected a dyeing unit on Palladam road and learnt about the methods used for the treatment of effluents.
Addressing the media, MLA Semmalai said, "On inspection, the National Green Tribunal has earmarked the 100 most polluted cities in India and Tirupur is one among that list. Hence, without jeopardising the businesses in Tirupur, measures are underway to control pollution with the help of the Pollution Control Board by cutting sufficient slack to curb pollution."
