Coimbatore : After one month of closure, Eco Tourism is all set to resume at Baralikadu in the Karamadai Range in Mettupalayam here.
While online registration would be opened on Monday (September 2nd), tourism activities would resume the following weekend. The facility is open only on weekends and registration is done through the official website of Coimbatore Forest Department.
Along with tourism, the Poochimarathur Forest Lodging Houses would also be opened for tourists.

The facility was closed on the 5th of August following heavy rains and flash floods in the Bhavani River, on the banks of which the tourism is carried out.
As waters continued to fill the Pillur reservoir, 58,000 cusec water was let out from the reservoir, making situations not safe for tourists. As the level of water reduced, it has been decided to resume one of the famous wildlife tourism attractions in Coimbatore.
The package includes a coracle ride on the backwaters of Pillur reservoir, trekking, tribal lunch and nature orientation programmes.
