Coimbatore: In order to scale up one’s business model and reach new heights, an entrepreneur should always stay focused and perseverant, said Hemalatha Annamalai, President of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).
Talking at the TiE Women’s Summit at Hotel Taj Vivanta today, Hemalatha said that scaling requires different dimensions and perceptions.

“The first task is to identify if a business model is viable. We will have to see if the business is problem solving and can survive,” she said.
She further added that it was also important for women entrepreneurs to manage time effectively. “If one spends too much hours on social media and fails to scale up financially, the business cannot succeed in the market. Time management and not being judgmental are personal traits that help a model grow,” she opined.
Talking about professional traits, Hemalatha suggested that all models must have a definitive plan for scaling up.
“Once we have definitive plans, we will not sit idle anywhere and it helps in constant growth. It would also help us identify our customers and catch the pulse of the market,” she added.
She further informed that the product delivered should also be of good quality. “These can be possible only if we do ground work and research on the market for a decent amount of time. If all falls in place and according to plan, scaling becomes easier,” she said.
