Coimbatore : The inaugural edition of the The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Women’s Summit was inaugurated at Hotel Taj by District Collector K. Rajamani today.
Coimbatore : The inaugural edition of the The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Women’s Summit was inaugurated at Hotel Taj by District Collector K. Rajamani today.
The summit is supported by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.
At the start of the event, Hemalatha Anamalai, President TiE, Coimbatore Chapter said that the event is aimed at encouraging women entrepreneurship in the State.
“As a part of the project, we are also to organise regular brain storming events. Women entrepreneurs would also be supported technically through the project,” said N.R.R. Vijayakumar, Chairman of the Summit and Project Director.
He added that mentoring would be provided based on requirement of the women entrepreneurs.
“As a part of the process, the sessions offered today by successful entrepreneurs would be a boost for the participants,” informed Vijayakumar.
R.V. Shajeevana, Additional Director of EDII said that many women entrepreneurs were in need of mentorship. “We found that of the successful women entrepreneurs, majority of them had good mentors,” she said.
Today’s event is to see speakers including Vanitha Mohan, Chairperson of Pricol, Social Entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganandam, C. Kumaravel, Founder and CEO of Naturals Salon chain, Vijayalakshmi Rao, Mentor, Independent Consultant and other entrepreneurs from across the country, address young women entrepreneurs and aspirants on creating successful business models, leadership and entrepreneurship.
