Coimbatore: A female elephant aged around 20 was found dead near the Government Horticulture Farm at Koottupulikkadu in Anaikatti on Wednesday.
The carcass was initially spotted by local people who alerted foresters. The elephant was roaming along with a herd near the horticulture farm since one week.
Foresters have claimed that the cause of death could be ascertained only after post mortem, which would be done on Thursday.
