Coimbatore: All India Weavers Development Association is organising 'I-Weave' textile show in Codissia between September 21-23.
The expo will be inaugurated by Sri Dayananda Puri Swami and Central Ministers - Smriti Irani, Nirmala Sitharaman and TN ministers SP Velumani, OS Manian, MLA and officials from textile department.
While addressing the press today, All India Weavers Development Association, President, KLT Kuppusamy said "The objective of this exhibition is to inform the public about the advancements in textile industry and to set a platform for the weavers to meet the customers directly. Our association is taking various measures to improve the livelihood of weavers across Tamil Nadu."
He added that there will be 160 exhibitors participating from Salem, Erode, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Theni, Dindigul, Virudunagar, and textile manufacturers from Kerala and Karnataka.
"Leading textile manufacturers will be displaying wide varieties of silk, handloom sarees, kora cotton, linen sarees and dresses for children", noted and Secretary Jeganathan.
Stalls on latest textile machineries, yarns, threads and other allied manufacturing products will be on display at the three-day expo.
