Coimbatore: Minister SP Velumani submitted a petition to the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmer's welfare Narendra Singh Tomar seeking funds for various rural development projects in Tamil Nadu
In his petition the minister requested to release a sum of Rs.194.78 crore towards the Performance Grant for the year 2017-18 and Rs.221.20 Crore for the year 2018-19.
He also requested Rs.876.94 crore towards the second installment of basic grant for the year 2018-19 and Rs.1184.93 crore towards the first installment of basic grant for the year 2019-20.
In his petition he further requested to sanction Rs, 2 Lakh houses under PMAY(G) Special Project for the Gaja- affected Districts and permit the State Government to sanction the houses to the affected beneficiaries irrespective of their community by relaxing the 60 : 40 (SC/ST : Others) ratio prescribed in the PMAY (G) Guidelines, and also to approve the Rs. 8,28,419 left out for the eligible beneficiaries.
