Two passengers who disguised themselves as passengers stabbed the driver of Red taxi they were travelling in, and pushed him out of the car before fleeing with the car near Singanallur.
Vasanth Kumar, a native of Ottanchathiram, Dindigul district is a red taxi driver in Coimbatore. He was on an early morning duty when two of them approached him for a trip to Madurai. The journey began at Singanallur.
When the car was nearing Sulur, the culprits disguised as passengers stabbed Vasanth Kumar, pushed him out of the car and drove away the car.
While the Police caught one Tirumurguan following the incident they were on the lookout for Kongusamy another accused in the case, who was caught by the police today.
A team led by Deputy SP Balamurugan, comprising Inspector Thangaraj, Sub Inspector Pandiarajan and other policemen nabbed Kongusamy who was later remanded and admitted CMCH for treatment.
