A red alert has issued throughout the Tamil Nadu following terrorist infiltration.
The intelligence bureau inputs pointed to Pakistani terrorists planning a terror attack in Tamil Nadu, especially targeting places in Coimbatore District to disrupt the Ganesh Chaturthi processions.
Following this report, many police in strength have been deployed throughout Coimbatore district for the last two days.
Meanwhile, the border areas of Ooty, Kerala and Ghats section have been under security blanket which is led by ADGP of Law & Order Jayanth Murali has been engaged in strengthening the security.
From two-wheelers to heavy-duty vehicles, all the vehicles are allowed to go to the city only after intense inspection that is being conducted round the clock. As a part of the safety measures, Black Commando Special Forces were deployed in Mettupalayam today and they marched with guns to ensure the safety of the city.

The march that started from the Bhavani river bridge check post passed through to the bus stand at Mettupalayam. Special police personnel are also screening the bus stops with the help of sniffer dogs.
