Based on the orders of West zone IG Periaiah, the city police have been keeping a close vigil from yesterday midnight , ever since the reports of terrorists infiltrating the city has been received by then.
Temporary checkposts have been set up and movements monitored on major roads in the district.
Security has been strengthened in churches, temples, mosques and railway stations as well.
Similarly, the top leaders of the Hindu outfits have already been provided with police security.
Police protection has been extended to 12 Hindu outfit leaders including Arjun Sampath, Hindu Makkal Katchi President.
