During a vehicle inspection in Tirupur - Mangalam road check post on Friday night, the Police stopped a Mahindra Xylo car with DMK party flag tied to it for inspection.
It was found that banned tobacco products weighing 50 kgs and 35 liquor bottles of other states were hid behind the back seat of the vehicle.
The Tirupur central police arrested the passengers of the car Sathish Kumar and Gnanaprakash and seized Rs 10,000 cash, two mobile phones and also confiscated the car.
The police suspect that the accused Sathish Kumar could be a DMK party member.
