The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has around 1 lakh contract employees across India and 6,000 contract employees in Tamil Nadu. The BSNL administration has been refusing to pay salaries to contract workers for the past seven months using the excuse of loans amounts as a reason. Disgruntled employees have thus decided to show their displeasure with BSNL by staging the protest on August 28.
