The Chennai High Court has ordered that only idols made of unbaked clay must be allowed for immersion in water bodies for Vinayaga Chathurti. The Court has also issued several guidelines to be followed for immersion of idols, this year. The public have been asked to be cautious and immerse only idols that are non-toxic to water sources, plants, animals and human beings.
