Coimbatore : In a shocking incident, a 26-year old Nepali student of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) committed suicide by hanging himself to death, in his hostel room
With over 2000 students from Tamil Nadu and other neighbouring states, as well as foreign countries pursuing their education at the TNAU campus in Coimbatore, provisions have been made for students to be lodged in separate hostels and international hostels, with additional facilities in the University premises.

A student from Nepal who was residing in the international hostel reportedly hung himself to death in his hostel room. A shocked hostel warden, Ganesan informed the college administration of the incident after which the R S Puram police rushed to the campus to recover the body and had it sent for autopsy.
The deceased student has been identified as Santhosh Neupane (26), a second-year postgraduate student of Crop Pathology. He is reported to have been in a romantic relationship with a Nepali woman. The R S Puram police have registered a case and are investigating.
