Coimbatore: CCMC Commissioner Sravan Kumar Jatavath has directed the officials to effect property tax filings and name transfers only after assuring if Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) system is in place at the property.
It is now mandatory for every building, house and hotels to have a rainwater harvesting system in place.
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Sravan Kumar Jatavath said, "It was already a rule to attach a photograph of the rainwater harvesting system in the property along with the application submitted for property tax and name transfer. But an increasing number of applications are submitted without the photograph. Hence from now on, it is mandatory to attach a photograph of the applicant standing near the rainwater harvesting system in the property."
He further added saying only after the concerned officials confirm the installation of rainwater harvesting system in the property the application will be further processed.
The commissioner has warned strict action would be taken against concerned officials if any malpractices are found.
