In a freak accident, a 11-year-old girl who was riding pillion on a scooter with her mother was run over by a government bus at Singanallur on Tuesday evening.
According to police reports, Pravina daughter of Balamurugan and Priya are residents of Kamala Mill colony near Singanallur. On Tuesday evening, Pravina along with her mother, Priya were travelling in a two-wheeler to a nearby location.

While Priya, escaped miraculously with minor injuries, Pravina got struck between the wheels and sustained grievous injuries.
The onlookers immediately rushed the girl to a nearby private hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The City traffic investigation police have registered a case and are investigating. The body of the deceased has been sent to the government hospital for post mortem.
