Coimbatore : Much to the shock and dismay of the public, an Aavin shop that was closed down a few days back has been converted to sell liquor by unscrupulous elements.
An Aavin shop which was operating near Ondipudur Police check post had remained closed for some time. In the meanwhile, all of a sudden sale of liquor was started in the Aavin shop.

Arguing that a TASMAC liquor outlet is to be opened in the same place, the persons involved in the sale of liquor produced a Xerox copy of the shop's license to convince the irate members of the public.
Singanallur police who arrived at the spot tried to pacify the people and advised the shop owners not to sell liquor and the sale was later stopped and the shop closed.

The irate residents have planned to launch a protest condemning against the TASMAC outlet to be opened in the place after vacating Aavin shop.
