Over 2000 employees work at the Aruvankadu Cordite Factory, which is located midway between Ooty and Coonoor. On Monday, employees protested along with their families at the factory premises against the Government's decision. Today, employees continued their protest in the form of a strike that witnessed the participation of C.F.L.U, D.F.L.U, N.E.U and C.D.R.A.
The CFLU General Secretary Asokan, NEU General Secretary Dilip Kumar and the DFLU Deputy Secretary Sivakumar led the protest and have announced a month-long strike condemning the privatisation of the factory.
