Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Management Association (CMA), affiliated to the All India Management Association organized an interactive workshop on ‘Leadership Challenges in the Age of Disruption’ last Monday (12th August) in the city.

Vineet Agarwal, the Managing Director of Transport Corporation of India (TCI) who was the main speaker at the event addressed the gathering on various responsibilities and challenges faced by the top management in an environment disrupted by technology.
“TCI, a Logistics company which moves goods close to 2.5 percent of India’s GDP took the initiative in moving the organization toward Digital Transformation four years ago. This is needed to stay ahead of the curve in terms of technology adoption,” opined Vineet Agarwal.
He also added, “Though change is essential, companies should not compromise on their core principles at any critical juncture or for undue gain. The need presently is for top management to move away from micromanagement and focus on larger things to achieve growth and scale. In the last few years, neither the MD nor I, or any promoter have signed a single cheque since we trust our team. This is due to the culture imbibed in the organization,” emphasized Vineet Agarwal.
Vineet who is also the Chairman of the Youth Leadership Council (YLC), a forum for young leaders and management professionals under 40 years of age under the All India Mangement Association (AIMA) took the opportunity at the event to throw the challenge to the audience to start a Coimbatore chapter of YLC. Amith Kumar, the CEO of Server Cake took up the challenge to lead the Coimbatore Chapter of YLC and set things in motion.
The CMA President, Prashanth, CEO of Quadra Systems and Secretary, Krishnakumar presided over the event.
