Coimbatore: The Isha Hatha Yoga Training program for the Indian Army was held at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore. Over 64 Indian Army personnel participated in the second batch of the intense 14-day Isha Hatha Yoga program which began today.

The army personnel were trained in the ancient and powerful practices of Upa-Yoga, Angamardana and Surya Kriya and were also initiated into Aum chanting and Isha Kriya. Many of the army personnel were equipped as Isha Hatha Yoga trainers to train other Indian Army personnel.
Earlier this year, on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, Sadhguru was at the Joint Services Andaman and Nicobar Command, of the Indian Armed Forces at Port Blair. He said that the powerful tools of inner well-being should be accessible to our valiant soldiers who protect the frontiers of the nation in the most adverse climatic conditions and hostile terrain.
Addressing senior officials of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, Sadhguru opined that the armed forces deserve and must have the best of health, balance and well being. Sadhguru expressed hope that the Indian our army personnel would make full use of these technologies of well-being and better equip themselves to guard the frontiers of the nation.
Stewarded by the Army Sports Control Board, under the aegis of the Directorate General of Military Training, this initiative aims at gradually equipping the large army force to be self-sustained in making the possibility of yoga available to every personnel spread across the length and breadth of the nation.
The contingent, consisting of Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks went through the regimen which included practice sessions twice a day and classroom sessions every day, commencing at 5.30 am and concluding at 9.30 pm. This batch of trained yoga instructors are reportedly now ready to transmit the ancient further yogic sciences within the Indian Army organization.
