Rajendran, a resident of Soap Company, Edayarpalayam, and painter by profession was married to Shalini a year ago. Shalini, who was nine months pregnant, was admitted to the CMCH and later she shifted to her sister's place at Kavundampalayam.
In the meanwhile, Rajendran who had gone to sister-in- law’s house and asked her to come to his house. Shalini's mother Meena, who was with her daughter’s confronted Rajendran for not going to work, following which an argument broke out between the two.

Thangamani, who was irked to know what has happened, confronted Rajendran on the same. However, an argument broke out between them, and in a fit of rage, Thangamani stabbed his son-in-law with a knife many times and fled the spot.
Rajendran was then rushed to the CMCH where the doctors declared him brought dead. The Thudiyalur police have registered the case and are on the lookout for Thangamani who fled the spot after stabbing his son-in-law to death.
