Coimbatore: The city police arrested Santhosh (22) for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl by luring her in the pretext of love.
Santhosh from Annur was employed in a mobile service company. He reportedly was in a relationship with a girl studying in XI student belonging to the same area.
The girl's parents who came to know about their daughter's love relation had warned her and enrolled her in a hostel.
Allegedly Santhosh visited the girl secretively and lured her of eloping to Kerala. However, as per the complaint lodged by the girl's parents at Gandhipuram Women police station, Santhosh had lured the girl to Kerala and later raped her.
The police later arrested Santhosh and booked him under POCSO Act for raping a minor. He was later remanded.
