Coimbatore : An abandoned male infant who was rescued by the public in Mettupalayam (MTP) was handed over to a private child care organisation in Tiruvannamalai district, on Saturday.
Coimbatore : An abandoned male infant who was rescued by the public in Mettupalayam (MTP) was handed over to a private child care organisation in Tiruvannamalai district, on Saturday.
On August 13, 2019, an abandoned male infant was rescued by the public near Vana Badrakali Amman temple, MTP. With the help of the police, the public admitted the infant weighing 1.120 kg at the Mettupalayam Government hospital for treatment and was later shifted to Coimbatore GH for further treatment.
As the baby showed improvement in health, the hospital administration decided to handover the baby to a private child care organisation. Following which, the infant was handed over today in the presence of Dr. P. Soundarvel, Resident Doctor, CMCH.
During the baby's stay at CMCH, the hospital adminstration had named him as 'Varadhan'. The staff nurses and the doctors wished him well and were present at the time of handing over him to the child care organisation functioning in Perumbakkam Road, Tiruvannamalai.
