Coimbatore: 65 beneficiaries received Rs.4.64 lakhs worth of welfare schemes during the Grievance Day organised at a village in Telungupalayam.
The District Collector, K Rajamani presided over the Grievance Day organised at the Rajarajeshwari Marriage Hall in Telungupalayam. Iron boxes and sewing machines worth Rs.16000 were distributed to four beneficiaries. Rs.30000 was given to five beneficiaries as compensation for loss incurred due to floods. Rs. 7500 worth wheelchairs were distributed to three beneficiaries and funds for old age were given to 11 beneficiaries, electronic ration cards were given to 14 beneficiaries and Rs. 40,000 worth welfare schemes were provided by the Agricultural Department to five beneficiaries.
Free patta was given to three people and Patta transfer was given to another three individuals. Income tax certificates for two beneficiaries and internal patta transfer for eight beneficiaries were done. The Social Welfare Department awarded a fixed deposit certificate of Rs. 50,000 for two girl children and Rs. 2,50,000 for another five beneficiaries. Under the vegetable farming boosting scheme, ladies finger seeds worth Rs. 20000 was given to each beneficiary. Rs. 1,01,012 was given for a beneficiary for installing drip irrigation. Thus, in total, 65 beneficiaries were awarded with welfare schemes worth Rs. 4.64 lakhs.
Divisional Officer North Suresh, Social Welfare Special Officer Amuthan, Assistant Director Survey Thavamani, Social Welfare Officer Thangamani, Tribal Welfare Officer Prabhakaran, Differently abled Welfare Officer Thangamani, Deputy Director of Horticulture Umarani, Thasildhar Mahesh and other officials were also present at the village for Grievance Day.
