Coimbatore: Marking the 73rd Independence Day celebrations at the Corporation Office in Coimbatore, the CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Sravan Kumar Jatavath hoisted the national flag and awarded certificates of appreciation to CCMC employees.

The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur at the Coimbatore Corporation main office.
The CCMC Commissioner paid homage at Mahatma Gandhi's statue by offering garlands and hoisting the national flag at the Victoria Auditorium premises. The Deputy CCMC Commissioner S Prasanna Ramasamy presided over the event.
The CCMC Commissioner honoured seven CCMC employees with a cash award of Rs.2000 each and awarded them with a certificate of appreciation for working conscientiously for 25 years without a single bad report on their record. Apart from them, the CCMC Commissioner also awarded certificates of appreciation to 10 employees from the Election Department and 49 CCMC employees who had performed well in their jobs. . He then issued Identity cards for Swacch Bharat Volunteers and certificates to Udayampalayam Corporation School, S.R.P. Corporation Girls High School, Maniyakarampalayam Corporation High School, Varadharajapuram Corporation High School and Puliyakulam Corporation Girls High School for securing 100 percent results in the Board exams.
Later, a cultural program by the R S Puram (West) Corporation Girls High School, S.R.P Ammaniyammalal Girls High School of R S Puram and Okkilipalayam Corporation Primary School was held at the 73rd Independence Day celebration event.

Commissioner (Revenue) Annadurai, Asst. Commissioner (Accounts) Saravanan, Asst. Commissioner (Placement) Mohanasundari, Executive Engineer Gnanavel, Asst. Executive Engineer Saravanakumar, Public Relations Officer Mathiazhagan, Account Officers Lakshmi Prabha ( Waterboard) and other CCMC employees, teachers and public also participated in the event.
