Following the guard of honour by the Police, and Home guards, the officials and volunteers who were engaged in the relief and rescue works were awarded with a commendation certificates lauding their services.
The natural disasters caused the heavy rainfall last week had disrupted the day to day life of the poeple in Ooty. Hence the cultural programmmes which was a part of the celebrations were cancelled.
