Tirupur: The 73rd Independence Day celebrations were held at Chikkanna Govt Arts College, Tirupur. District Collector K.S Palanisamy hoisted the flag and distributed welfare aids worth Rs 56 Lakhs to the beneficiaries.
Tirupur: The 73rd Independence Day is celebrated in grandeur nationwide. In Tirupur, Independence Day celebrations were held at Chikkanna Govt Arts College, Tirupur. District Collector K.S Palanisamy hoisted the flag and distributed welfare aids worth Rs 56 Lakhs to the beneficiaries.
He then honoured the freedom fighters and awarded the policemen, Govt officials who had performed well in the District with a certificate of appreciation and shields.
Collector K.S Palanisamy then distributed welfare aids on behalf of Welfare of Differently-abled Dept, Revenue Dept, Agriculture Dept and other depts worth Rs 56 Lakhs. Cultural programs by school students entertained the audiences.
