Coimbatore: About 10,000 saplings for Gaja affected have been distributed at a function organised at the PSG Sarvajana school today.
The Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Iyarkai Foundation and the PSG Sarvajana school have jointly organised the event. The saplings would be sent to the farmers affected by Gaja cyclone in Vedaranyam.
As a part of the event 4000 students lined up to form "A seed revolution" in human formation,which impressed everyone who witnessed it.
'Mehendi Circus' film's hero Madhampatty Rangaraj, who spoke on the occasion stressed on the importance of planting trees.
While addressing the press, he said, "I feel happy to have attended this event. It reminded me of my school days. I promise to do my part for the nature conservation. I believe this will create an awareness amongst students on the importance of planting trees".
