"DMK Chief Stalin targeting Govt. for gaining political mileage” - Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam

The Nilgiris: Deputy CM O. Panneerselvam who presided over the review meeting here said that he would submit the report on the damage assessment exercise being carried out in the rain-affected Nilgiris district before the Chief minister Edapadi Palanisamy.

Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya and Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan and Theni MLA Ravindranath Kumar reviewed the flood relief measures being undertaken in Nilgiris.

Later addressing the press the Deputy CM said “I sincerely thank and appreciate the great efforts of District Collector Innocent Divya and other officers of the district administration who have hugely contributed to the relief works in the flood-affected areas of Nilgiris district. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu ordered the district authorities to carry out precautionary measures owing to which any human loss was prevented”.

“I appreciate and congratulate District Collector Innocent Divya and other officials who played a pivotal role in carrying out the relief measures. The members of the public and the media cooperated with the district administration in a big way to carry out the relief measures in an effective way” O. Panneerselvam observed.

While slamming M.K Stalin for criticizing the State Government he said that the people know well about the Government and the Leader of the opposition is finding fault for political reasons.



The district administration has submitted a proposal in which Rs 150 crores are sought towards flood relief for the rain-affected Nilgiris district.

Deputy CM O.Panneerselvam earlier visited the flood-affected areas in Gudalur.

He was accompanied by Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan, Former Minister and present State Secretary Budhi Chandran, Ravindranath, Theni MLA, Shanthi A. Ramu, Conoor MLA, District Collector Innocent Divya, Secretary K. R Arjunan, A.K Selvaraj, O.K Selvaraj, Mettupalayam MLA and others.
