On Sunday evening, since Kovai Kutralam had been closed owing to torrential rains in the Siruvani region for the past one week, tourists had parked their cars in front of the checkpoint. This however was done in a way that did not disrupt traffic or block the road. But, a TNSTC bus driver parked the bus blocking a car and walked away with the conductors to a nearby shop for a tea break.
When the public questioned the irresponsible driver, he pointed at the car saying that he could not squeeze past it. Since this was not the case, the irate public complained about the behaviour of a public servant.
