Coimbatore: The Nursing Students and the Principal were left embarrassed at the CMCH on Tuesday, after they struggled to answer for the subject-based questions posed by the Health Minister at the inaugural function of the Pneumococcal Vaccine and Vascular Surgery Unit held at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

As part of the inaugural function, an awareness rally was held to mark the World Organ Donation Day. Hundreds of student nurses took part in the rally which was flagged off by State Health Minister, Vijayabaskar and the Minister for Municipal Administration and RDI, S P Velumani.

As the event drew to an end, Health Minister Vijayabaskar surprised the nursing students by asking them questions related to State's medical program. As none of the students were able to give an answer, the Health Minister turned his attention towards the Principal (in-charge) for an answer.

Shockingly, the Principal too din't have answers. Irked by the ill-informed students and the faculty, the Health Minister ordered departmental action against the Principal under Section 17(a). Tense moments prevailed at the event due to the stringent action by the Health Minister.
