Owing to heavy rains, the district of Nilgiris has faced severe devastation. Landslides, soil erosion and battered roads has made life very difficult for the people in the Nilgiris.
In a bid to extend a helping hand to the district administration in relief works and to revamp the infrastructure, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has deputed around 60 sanitation workers to Ooty. And, two sewage lorries were also sent along with the manpower.
The crew left from here on Sunday through bus. Deputy Commissioner, S. Prasanna Ramasamy, District Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Urban Welfare Officer M.K. Santhosh Kumar were present.
