The Nilgiris : With speculations arising over the privatisation of Indian Railways, member of the Indian Railways Department Rajesh Agarwal has stated that the famous Nilgiris Mountain Train will not be privatised.
Speaking At an event in Coonoor, Rajesh said that the Railways Department was being governed excellently by quality administrators. Hence, privatisation was not needed.

“This is a very traditional railway line and one of the few hill railway lines in Asia, with other countries closing down hill trains. It is an honour for all of us,” he said.
He also opened the Rannimedu Railway Station in Coonoor that was reconstructed.
Following the event, Southern Railways along with India Posts, released a special stamp on Nilgiris Hill Train. The stamp was released by Rajesh Agarwal and Director of Western Region of India Posts Seeliburman.

Delegates including Subbarao, Manager of Dalem Division, Chief Division Engineer Harikrishnan and Coonoor Railway Station Manager Pradeep participated in the event.
