The Boat House at the facility has been totally submerged by the floodwaters.
According to sources, as much as 88,000 cusec of water has been let out from the Pillur Dam located at the upstream area of the facility. This has necessitated complete closure of the facility.
Notably, tourism at the facility is booked online and is run by the Karamadai Forest Range officials. It includes trekking, coracle rides and a lunch prepared by tribesmen.
