Coimbatore: A Grievance Day meeting for pensioners was led by the District Collector K Rajamani was held at the District Collectorate, today.
The District Revenue Officer, Ramadurai Murugan, the Associate Director of Pension Department, Illangovan, the Deputy Director Mathivanan, the District Collector's Interview Assistant (Accounts) Seshadri, the District Treasury Officer P V Raja and several other Government officials took part in the meeting.
Addressing the media, the District Collector K Rajamani said, "A special camp is being held today to address the grievances of the pensioners with regard to immediate payment of pending medical benefits and family welfare payments with immediate effect on the survey. Once in three months, a grievance meeting will be held to address the grievances of pensioners who had worked in various Government sectors such as Revenue, Education and Development in the Coimbatore district.
K Rajamani requested the present employees of the Division of Pension and Benefits to work with compassion and patience, keeping in mind that present employees will one day become future pensioners. He also instructed the Divisional Officers to take prompt action on the pensioners' requests.
Over 70 pensioners took part in the grievance meeting where 75 petitions were received. Immediate solutions were provided for 61 petitions while the other 14 petitions were handed over to the concerned department officers for immediate action.
