Coimbatore : The District Collector, K Rajamani through a release has warned the people living in low-lying areas and along the Noyyal river to evacuate immediately as around 4650 cubic feet water is expected to gush through the river by the end of today.
Coimbatore : The District Collector, K Rajamani through a release has warned the people living in low-lying areas and along the Noyyal river to evacuate immediately as around 4650 cubic feet water is expected to gush through the river by the end of today.

Several way bridges and hutments along the Noyyal stretch has been engulfed by the flood waters. Notably, the way bridge at Vellalore - Singanallur has been totally submerged leaving the commuters take a 10 kms deviation.

Meanwhile, traffic has also been affected affected for the second day at the Ondipudur-Pattanam road after the way bridge remains submerged.
The public have gathered in large numbers at these stretches to witness the gushing waters, an occurrence that is being witnessed after 10 years, they say.
