Coimbatore: As five projects from Coimbatore Corporation have been nominated for the 2019 Skoch awards, the Corporation Commissioner has requested the citizens to cast their votes in favour of the projects.

Projects from all over the country, under different categories like Education, Rural development, Health care, Municipalities will be nominated by Central or State governments or City/ District administration have applied for Skoch Awards.
Instituted in 2003, Skoch Award is the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organisation. It recognises people, projects and institutions that go an extra mile to make India a better nation. The Award acknowledges achievements in organisations for best practices in the sector.
This year, these five projects from CCMC have been nominated - 1. Coimbatore Climate Change 2. No Dumping 3. Model Government School by Coimbatore Corporation 4.
24x7 Water supply and 5. Leak Proof Coimbatore.
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, J.Sravan Kumar has requested the people of Coimbatore to vote for the projects. "Skoch Governance awards are bestowed on best projects selected from across the nation. This year, we have five projects nominated for the award. Let’s all unite together to make our city stand tall", he added.
He further noted that "The voting lines will be open till 6 PM of August 9. Hence, all Coimbatoreans should take time to register their votes for the projects."
Here's the step by step process for casting vote-
1) Visit https://vote.skoch.in/ Click ‘Register’ (for New User) or ‘Log In’ (for Existing User)
2) Complete Registration Form and Two-Step Verification Process (Mobile OTP and Email Verification)
3) Activate your account using the email from SKOCH or ‘Log in’ to access Online Voting Portal
4) Choose the ‘View Nomination’ tab and select the nomination that you wish to vote for from the corresponding voting group.
5) Click ‘Vote’ next to your desired nomination and proceed to ‘Confirm’ your vote.
6) You will be redirected to Twitter, to tweet a pre-composed message confirming your vote.
7) Follow the handles in the pre-formulated message, without which, your vote will not be counted.
