Coimbatore: Traffic was disrupted at multiple points in the city after heavy rains pounded the city. Woes of waterlogging, traffic jams and choked drains were reported in many parts of the city, especially in all the under passes of the main flyovers.

Commotion prevailed at all arterial roadson Thursday as there was water stagnation upto 2 ft at several points. As usual, the underpass near Kikani School was submerged in water.
The underpass of the Avinashi Road flyover was reported to be completely inaccessible for motorists. This forced motorists to use the flyovers and other alternate narrow roads to reach their destination.
It was a nightmare for motorists and bus drivers at the Marakadai area this evening, as the Avinashi road flyover was unusually crowded with vehicles. All four-wheelers and buses were inching along at snail's pace with impatient drivers honking to add to the chaos in the area.
With heavy rains forecast for tonight, public are petrified of what the traffic scene would look like tomorrow.
