In the programme 10 Forest Range Officers headed by Dr Malathi Priya Conservator of Forests, Karnataka Forest Department participated.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr S. Murugesan, Director of IFGTB said that VAM biofertilizer is the most important microbial biofertilizer which is extensively used in agriculture and forestry.
"Multiplication of high infective propagates of VAM biofertilizer will be very useful to improve the growth and biomass of the forestry tree crops in nursery and field level," he said and added “VAM biofertilizer is the right alternative to Chemical Phosphate fertilizers and other nutrients”.
The programme coordinator Dr V. Mohan said that the participants will be trained to set VAM production units in Karnataka Forest Department by using the knowledge acquired through the programme.
