Coimbatore : Two persons died and two others sustained grievous injuries when the Railway parcel office building situated behind Coimbatore Railway Junction gave way and collapsed suddenly
Firefighters and the Police rushed to the spot after the building collapsed at around 3.15 am leaving four people trapped inside.
Out of the four, Pavazhamani and Ibrahim succumbed to their injuries while the other two were rescued and rushed to the CMCH for treatment by the rescue teams.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased demanded that compensation be extended to the families of the dead. They demanded a job for Pavazhamani's son on compassionate grounds and education expenses for his daughter. It is said that no Railway official had visited the family of the deceased so far.
The relatives of the deceased have staged demonstration demanding proper compensation and refused to perform the final rites until a guarantee is given in this respect.
