Railway parcel office building collpases; two dead
Coimbatore: In an unfortunate incident, two people were killed and two severely injured after the railway parcel office building functioning behind the Coimbatore railway junction collapsed during the wee hours of today.

The firefighters and the police rushed to the spot after the building collpased at around 3:15 AM today leaving four people struck inside.

The firefighters cleared the debris and retrieved four people, out of which two were reported to have died on the spot. The others are presently admitted at the Coimbatore GH for critical treatment.
One of the dead has been identified as Mani, while the whereabouts of others are yet to be known.

The reasons for the building collapse is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, it is speculated that the continous rains lashing the city could have collapsed the building.

The police have commenced an investigation. And, search is on to find if more people are struck inside the building.
